All natural remedies you can offer you dragon.

There are a few things you can offer your dragon/s either due to illness, or just to keep your dragon healthy, without the risk of over dosing, or wiping out the gut flora, (the friendly bacteria) unlike some meds will...

Bee Pollen

Bee Pollen consists of blended pollen grains that are collected by honeybees, from a wide variety of plants, and it contains every vitiman known needed for human bodies. The human grade, can also be used for reptiles.

Bee pollen destroys harmful bacteria in the intestines. It contains a natural antibiotic which destroys salmonella and other harmful bacteria, and will also help flush out toxins from the body.

To boost a reptiles immune system whether from illness, or after Brumation, or just to offer daily to ensure you reptile stay healthy, Bee pollen is a great all natural product to use, without having to worry about over dosing. Since there is no available dosage that is recommended for them, just use a small pinch for them, daily on their greens, or a pinch disolved in room temp water. Most reptiles love the taste, and will except it with no issues at all. I offer all my reptiles Bee pollen year round, and have nursed alot of rescues back to health from bee pollen also. I offer my adults about 1 dropper full, 3 x per week, but for rescues with poor immune systems, I offer a dropper full daily. For younger dragons sprinkle on the greens, or 1/2 dropper will be fine. As stated, they cannot OD on Bee pollen.

Colloidal Silver.

Colloidal Silver is known to kill 650 different kinds of pathogens, including bacteria, fungus and viruses in addition to many others. It will absorb so rapidly due to its small ion size that it is absorbed by the blood before it can reach the gut (antibiotics have very large molecules which get absorbed so slowly as they travel into the gut, that they kill the normal friendly bacteria (needed for good health in the intestines). If your pet is lethargic from illness like bacterial infections, paracites, etc, offering .5ml of colloidal silver daily along with a small pinch of bee pollen granules will help boost his immune system. It can be offered as a defense or preventative against germs, viruses, bacteria, allergens or pathogens, Colloidal Silver is the best and most tried and tested natural antibiotic alternative rather than some harsh meds from a vet that will do more harm than good. But, depending on what problem your dragon has, meds may be needed.

Milk Thistle.

This plant belongs to the same family of plants as daisies. Milk Thistle is a liver detox, so if you have a dragon with liver problems, this just may help. I use the human grade, for my adult male, Charlie who has adenovirus. I just offer a pinch, daily, disolved with a little water.

This is the dried enzyme that come from the silkworms, and has properties that make calcium absorption more efficient, can reduce inflammation, pain and best of all it can break down plaque on the teeth of your dragon. I also use the human grade and offer a pinch daily to Charlie. If you feed your dragon alot of silkworms, this would not be necessary at all.

Grape Seed Extract.

Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) is a substance derived from the seeds, membranes, and the pulp of grapefruit. Used as a broad-spectrum, non-toxic, antimicrobial product, it is known to be highly effective for fighting infection and promoting health. GSE is used as a purifier, antiseptic, and preservative. Even in studies comparing its effectiveness to chlorine bleach, isopropyl alcohol, and colloidal silver, GSE has been found to be superior as an antimicrobial.

Studies on animal models have revealed that the extract can be effective in treating heart diseases. Some experts think that grape seed extract could even have anticancer and cancer chemopreventive potential.

All over the world, GSE has been used for killing a wide variety of bacteria (such as: Salmonella, E.Coli, Staph and Strep germs), viruses, parasites, and fungi, including Candida. It is effective against more than 800 bacterial and viral strains, 100 strains of fungus, as well as a large number of single-cell and multi-celled parasites. GSE has no harmful side effects, along with being economical. Whereas most germ inhibiting components found in seeds can be toxic to humans and animals, the grapefruit seed has compounds that convert into a form that not only retains its antimicrobial properties, but also is non-toxic.

Healing wounds - Grape seed extract can heal dermal wounds. For Dragons with Yellow Fungus disease, this has worked well for some.

Improving bone strength - Including grape seed extract in your dragons diet with calcium has a beneficial effect on bone formation and bone strength for the treatment of bone debility caused by a low level of calcium.

Preventing skin cancer - Grape seeds contain proanthocyanidins which can prevent the development of cancer.

Cardiovascular benefits - The antioxidants in grape seed extract can potentially protect the blood vessels from becoming damaged, which may prevent high blood pressure.

grape seed proanthocyanidin extract (GSPE) provides superior antioxidant efficacy as compared to Vitamins C, E and β-carotene.

Reducing edema (swelling) - Taking grape seed extract can help reduce the swelling that occurs after an injury or surgery.

Because of its antioxidant properties, grape seed extract is considered an anti-aging wonder. Antioxidants are the most important nutrients for the skin. The bioflavonoids in grape seed extract help strengthen and protect cell membranes from oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Its antioxidant properties are considered to be stronger than those of vitamin C and Vitamin E. It helps to repair connective tissue while promoting skin enzyme activity. Grape seed extract aids wound healing by helping to regenerate damaged blood vessels and clearing harmful bacteria from the wound.

grape seed extract is a powerful antioxidant that can be used to benefit dragons in many ways. Grape seed has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immune boosting properties and it can be instrumental in helping the body fight viruses, allergens, and carcinogens. It can be bought in liquid form, or capsules. If you use the liquid, one or two drops is all that's needed. I use the capsule form. I break open a capsule, and add a very tiny pinch, mixed with a little chicken baby food, fruit juice, or liquefied greens. It has a very bitter taste, so mixing it with something would be your best bet

These are just a few products that can be used daily on our dragons to help keep them happy and healthy that are all natural, so once again, you do not have to worry about Over dosing.

Note: If you have a sick reptile it is always best to take it to a vet to determine what exactly is going on. Offering these products will not cure your dragon if it's having major health issues, but the Colloidal silver is known to cure bacterial infections in some cases. If your reptile is positive for any bacterial infections, ask your vet about Colliodal silver, alot of vets recommend this also :):)

Lets keep our beloved reptiles healthy and happy!

What can someone do for ear infection

Nancy 21.06.2019 05.16

You will need to get him antibiotics from a vet. An infection will not go away on it's own, and will continue to get worst if left untreated.

You mention both grapefruit seed extract and grape extract. They are two different things. Am I right to assume you mean grapefruit seed extract? Thank you.
